Summing up
With improvements to the outlook for the wider economy, there is improved confidence in the construction industry.
Though challenges surrounding materials, labour, viability and productivity remain, construction activity remains relatively strong. It is, therefore, essential to consider procurement and tendering strategies carefully. Regional variations are seen, as pipeline fullness impacts risk appetite and acceptance.
All in all, the rest of the year will generally be positive for the industry. Still, of course, there remains some uncertainty as construction will continue being prey to changes in global forces like the rest of the UK economy.
