Energy and Infrastructure Report 2022
Energy update
Global energy consumption will continue to rise in 2022. The world faces a pivotal conflict, that of meeting a growing supply of needs whilst simultaneously transitioning to clean energy to achieve net zero carbon emissions.
This, however, is the new normal for our sector. Energy professionals, organisations and investors must meet this challenge head on and take personal and corporate responsibility for delivering the goal. As an industry we must embrace this task through collaboration and with capitalisation on new, innovative technologies.
In this update, we focus on some of these issues. From financing arrangements for new build nuclear developments, to the utilisations of small modular reactors and the balancing act between economic and environmental considerations that surround fossil fuels versus cleaner, renewable energy sources.
